General Manager, Stephen Holland
Prior to joining Verve, Stephen Holland spent 15 years in the hospitality industry from one Canadian coast to the other. His management and customer service experience provides the staff and residents with the highest standard of leadership and service excellence. Stephen is passionate about quality in senior’s care, supporting family members, and creating a positive work environment.
Since 2017, Stephen has provided leadership as a General Manager and Area Manager with Verve Senior Living. Stephen’s ongoing commitment to residents and team members is evident in all areas of the business and his core philosophy of engagement can be felt by all. These core values and those of Verve Senior Living will continue to be at the forefront at The Shores of Port Credit.
Community Relations Manager, Katherine Mayers
Katherine Mayers is no stranger to the sales and marketing world having worked almost 20 years in the hospitality industry in some of the top hotels in the City of Toronto. Although Katherine is new to Senior Living, she is not new to working alongside seniors and their families. Most recently having worked with travel companies helping seniors plan cross-Canada vacations.
Community Relations Manager, MICHELLE BIBBY
Michelle’s marketing experience began in the tourism industry, working various marketing positions at Toronto’s CN Tower, including opening the EdgeWalk, before transitioning to the retirement industry five years ago as a Sales and Marketing Manager. She holds a degree in Finance from York University and a Marketing Certificate from Ryerson University.
Her favourite part of working in this industry is learning from the wealth of knowledge the seniors that she works with have and developing authentic friendships within The Shores community to create a family environment.
Community Relations Manager, ANDREA CABA
Andrea Caba has dedicated over 10 years to client relations. Her empathetic and compassionate attitude supports her efforts to focusing on building strong relationships. Naturally, Andrea has a passion for real estate supported by her pursuit to completing her Real Estate education. Her most recent employment history has familiarized her with leasing and has provided her the opportunity to educate her residents and support them best throughout this transition in their lives. She is excited to explore the senior living world and introduce luxury living like no other.
Health and Wellness Manager, Jana Simpson
Jana Simpson has been a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) serving the older adult population since 2007. She comes to The Shores with over a decade’s experience working in the Senior Living industry and as a Health and Wellness Manager. Jana insists on the highest quality of care and excellent customer service through effectively leading an empowered and highly skilled health and wellness team. She’s a real stickler for compliance and regulatory guidelines and is our expert on regulations and corporate policies.
Life Enrichment Manager, Angela Stea
Angela has worked in the Life Enrichment Industry for about 5 years with experience in Retirement and Long-Term Care settings. She studied Therapeutic Recreation and American Sign Language at Seneca College. With her enthusiasm for working with seniors, positive attitude, and creative mind, Angela is committed to creating and implementing meaningful, engaging leisure activities for seniors and is excited to be part of The Shores of Port Credit team.
Dining Room Manager, Kimberley White
Kimberley White joined Verve Senior Living in 2021. She has over 12 years of food and beverage experience in the hospitality industry. Kimberley particularly enjoys working with seniors. Commitment to fulfilling their healthy dietary needs is important to her.
The residents of The Shores of Port Credit appreciate the personal attention that is given to them by Kimberley. Her friendly, caring manner and lively personality brings an upbeat atmosphere to the dining room. Her dining team here at the Shores of Port Credit and our residents are like family to Kimberley.
Executive Chef, Gustavo Hernandez
Gustavo graduated from Humber College in 2012 with Honours in Culinary Management and has since acquired extensive experience in pastry and cooking, receiving his Red Seal Designation in 2015.
Since 2013, Gustavo has been a part of the Verve Senior Living family, catering to the tastes of the residents. He enjoys interacting on the day-to-day, working closely with residents and their families. Meeting their needs is a priority for Gustavo. He is passionate about constantly furthering his culinary skills to bring good food that feeds the mind and body to the residents of The Shores of Port Credit.
Sous Chef, Oneal Pollard
Chef Oneal Pollard grew up loving the culinary arts, a gift he received from his mother and grandmother, both of whom worked as chefs and achieved success in the culinary sector. Oneal received his culinary arts associates degree in Barbados in 2005, after working for 18 years in various hotels and restaurants. His specialties are Caribbean and Western Continental cuisine. Since then, he has been giving residents intriguing meals with booming flavors with a touch of island cuisine since joining Verve Senior Living in 2019.
Office Manager, Patricia Szczepanik
Patricia Szczepanik has been working with seniors for 10 years now, having started her career as an Activation Coordinator. She went on to finish her Bachelor of Arts with honours in Gerontology and is bringing all those skills to the team as the Office Manager for The Shores of Port Credit. Patricia brings her creative and joyful personality to the leadership team and is excited to be gaining the experience of opening a new senior living residence. She has found her calling in serving seniors and continues to find a path that honours these members of our community.
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER, IRFAN SHALLWANI
With more than 30 years of experience (17 years in the financial sector and 13 years in environmental services) spread over several countries, including Pakistan, Dubai-UAE, Muscat-Oman, and currently in Toronto, Canada, Irfan is thrilled with the opportunity to bring his expertise to The Shores of Port Credit, where he will put his master’s degree in Business Administration to good use brightening the days of the residents in our community.
